Last Tuesday, Nedim Nisic, aztek's resident superstar (and only Olympian), graduated from the Dale Carnegie Training Course. For reference, the course is a 12-week program that helps individuals sharpen their presentation and interpersonal skills to further improve their professional performance.
During the ceremony, each student was asked to give a presentation about how they applied one or more of the Dale Carnegie Principles in their everyday lives. Nedim, who gives swimming lessons on the side, told the story about a "discussion" he and a pool employee had over the use of some resistance training equipment.
In short, the employee approached Nedim in a combative way. Instead of escalating things, even though he was in the right, Nedim complied with the employee's wishes. A few weeks later, that same employee approached him, told him he was right, and has since let Nedim use the resistance training equipment again.
By applying what he learned, Nedim was able to win this person to his way of thinking. And it's exactly this type of result that we look forward to seeing here at aztek.
Nedim's graduation is just one more example of why he's such a valuable member of the aztek team. No one told him to take the course. He just saw the opportunity to improve himself and did it.
Congrats on your graduation, Nedim!
