What We’re Looking For

Are you a willing wordsmith ready to create captivating copy for a variety of organizations? Oh good, that's what we need!

This position will research, write, and edit content for Aztek’s digital marketing clients and website design projects. The content writer will work with a team of strategists and other specialists to write the blog post, web pages, and any other content our clients need to help them succeed online.

The content writer should love a challenge and be eager to learn and grow.

The ideal candidate has experience writing content for an agency, publication, or some other organization that requires clear, well-written copy. Candidates should also offer a well-rounded skill set that includes the ability to research complicated topics, attention to detail, a talent to make the mundane sound interesting, and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

Want to know what you’ll be doing on a day-to-day basis?

The content writer is responsible for overseeing and completing content creation efforts for some of our clients. This process will involve working with the strategist and other specialists on each account to write a variety of content that helps each client achieve their digital marketing goals.

  • Create clear, well-written content such as blog posts, website content, press releases, and other marketing copy as needed by their clients.
  • Write strong headlines and clear calls to action that appeals to our clients' audiences.
  • Optimize existing content such as blog posts and web pages for better organic performance.
  • Conduct thorough research and potential interviews on industry-related topics.
  • Proofread and edit content before publication.
  • Work with strategists to identify customers’ needs and gaps in content and research industry-related topics to generate ideas for new content and optimization opportunities.
  • Conduct keyword research and use SEO best practices to increase web traffic.
  • Communicate directly with clients for interviews, regular client calls, and other meetings.
  • Work with clients to recommend content opportunities, including new blog post topics, site pages, and existing content to update.
  • Ensure all-around consistency (style, tone, etc.).

What Makes a Great Fit?

  • 2+ years of experience creating content for a marketing agency, publication, or some other relevant organization.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Experience doing research using multiple sources.
  • Working knowledge of ranking factors, search engine algorithms, and SEO best practices.
  • Ability to conduct keyword research and create content game plans aligned with clients' goals.
  • Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress, Umbraco, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines at the same time.
  • Ability to work with and write about a variety of businesses and industries with their own voices, styles, and audiences.
  • Strong communication skills for research interviews, monthly meetings, and email check-ins with clients.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and solve problems.
