SEO Specialist

Aztek is one of Cleveland’s top digital agencies focused on web design, development, and digital marketing. Our growing agency is highly focused on culture, innovation, and the success of our clients. We’re currently seeking a Search Engine Optimization Specialist to join our team.

What We’re Looking For

The SEO Specialist will be a permanent, full-time position and can be located remotely in Cleveland, Ohio (preferred) or in the U.S. The SEO Specialist will be responsible for various internet marketing activities, including organic search campaign development, search engine optimization, on-page optimization, and performance analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional hands-on technical SEO knowledge, as well as client communication skills. SEO Specialists must have superior analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills as they will be expected to work on multiple projects simultaneously under strict timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analyses on your (multiple) clients’ industries, results, and trends to develop sound, data-driven recommendations for site improvements.
  • Develop SEO strategies that attract relevant traffic and drive ROI for your clients.
  • Set and execute strategies to improve the organic rankings and search traffic.
  • On-site optimization related to page titles, URLs, redirects, internal link structures, SEO copy editing, canonicals, Core Web Vitals, robots.txt, and XML sitemaps review/maintenance.
  • Collaborate with a team of content writers, developers, and account managers to efficiently execute your strategies and campaign goals.
  • Work in harmony with other marketing departments like the PPC Team to create integrated results for your clients’ campaigns.
  • Execute SEO tactics on client sites hosted within various CMSs (Content Management System).
  • Create and effectively present monthly performance reports for clients within a given timeline.
  • Stay aligned with the latest SEO tools and techniques and communicate learnings to non-SEO experts in a mentoring role.
  • Skilled in competitive analysis and identifying strategies to facilitate our clients in reaching the top of their industry.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of SEO experience and a demonstratable eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills required.
  • Tactical/Technical implementation experience in working with multiple complicated sites and migration of sites.
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and expertise with Google Search Console tools.
  • Experience working with technical SEO tools such as SEMrush and Screaming Frog and proven experience prioritizing technical recommendations.
  • Experience setting up, optimizing, and creating internal site search strategy.
  • A solid understanding of HTML, schema.
  • Experience creating strategy or resolving SEO issues in JavaScript a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities: Incumbent must have most of the following proficiencies:

  • Experience implementing minor coding changes across websites.
  • Google Analytics, Search Console, and advanced knowledge with Google My Business or other local listing management tools.
  • Deep experience using keyword research tools.
  • Experience setting up and using Google Tag Manager.
  • Must stay current and maintain industry knowledge, trends etc. in digital space.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities initially.
